Laurine Jensen Heather, 85, passed away at her home on Thursday, August 2, 2012. She was born in El Paso, Texas, on December 19, 1926 of Margaret Van den Broeck and Lawrence Jensen. She was a resident of Freeport for the past 64 years and retired office manager after 25 years at Cunningham Bearing. She was a devoted housewife and mother who left us with many wonderful memories and a legacy of love, kindness, and unselfish giving.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat Broussard of Jones Creek, her two sons, Michael Heather of Lake Jackson and Randy Heather and wife Janie of Rockwall; her nine grandchildren, Heather Gilliam of Brazoria, Amy Perry of Jones Creek, Joey Broussard of Houston, Matt Broussard of Houston, Lauren Heather of San Antonio, Kelly Heather of Houston, Meredith Heather of Austin, John Heather of Houston, Cara Edmondson of Killeen; and eight great-grand children Mackenzie, Keetan, and Cheyenne Gilliam; Sabrina, Dylan, and Amber Perry; Ryland Heather; and Cadence Edmondson.
She is preceded in death by Harold Heather, her husband of 65 years, and Earl Jensen, her brother.
Laurine loved fishing, the beach, quilting, and being active with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation with the family will be held at Lakewood Chapel on Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Freeport on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 10 a.m. followed by graveside services at Restwood Memorial Park in Lake Jackson.
Acting as pallbearers are Joey Broussard, Matt Broussard, John Heather, Norman Landry, Steven Jensen, Richard Jensen, Lawrence Jensen and Terry Jensen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1019 W. Sixth, Freeport, TX 77541.
