Ray was born on January 8, 1936 in Corpus Christi, Texas, graduated from West Columbia High School (Class of '54) and attended the University of Houston and Sam Houston University. Ray served in the U. S. Army and retired from Dow Chemical, where he worked as an Instrument and Computer Tech.
Ray was preceded in death by his father, Ray H. Edwards, Sr., mother Mabel Allene Johnson Brown, sister Annie Marie Edwards Boudreaux, and nephews Stephen and Sam Boudreaux.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Louise Alexander Edwards, nephews Bob, Tim, Terrill and Martin Boudreaux, nieces June Ann Hill, Paula Webb and Lisa Haygood, Aunt Dorothy Johnson, many cousins, sister-in-law Patricia Alexander Finley and sons Blaine, Monte and Donald Finley, sister-in-law Brenda Alexander Skandier and daughter Bethany Rockey.
He was blessed with many "special" friends and he loved them all.
The family will receive friends at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Pastor Carroll Grigsby officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his nephews Bob, Tim, Terrill and Martin Boudreaux, Blaine, Monte and Donald Finley; brother-in-law Sterling Skandier and special friends Vernon Burke, Richard Chafin, Ray Bigler and Eugene Fink.
Heartfelt thanks to Hospice Care Team, Doctors and Staff of Brazosport Regional Hospital. The family request that donations be made to the charity of your choice.

I consider myself lucky to have met Ray, he allways made rehab worth going.....he tried so hard to do the exercises, he never gave up....he will e missed.....

We are so sorry about the loss of "R.H." in the lives of the Many who knew and loved him. "H.E." as he was so affectionally called by his Mother and our Family was a wonderful Man.
