Jose I. Arechiga passed away November 1, 2012. He was born February 15, 1927 to Pedro and San Juanita Arechiga in El Limonsito de Alaya, Sinaloa, Mexico. Jose was a former resident of Eagle Pass has been an area resident since 1997. During his life he was a farmer and a bus driver for the Bracero Program.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Paula, 3 sons: George, Ernesto, and Juan Antonio.
He is survived by eleven children: Jose L. Arechiga, Oscar Arechiga, Albert Arechiga, Isabel Arechiga, Diana Salinas,
Rosa Elena Arechiga, Marisela Hinojosa, Maria de la Luz Vasquez, San Juanita Arechiga, Leticia Melendez, Rebecca King,
43 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 3 sisters: Josephina, Maria, and Candelaria in Sinaloa, Mexico.
The family will receive friends 6pm until 9 pm Saturday with a Rosary at 7:30 at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel; 98 North Dixie Drive; Lake Jackson, Texas 77566.
Funeral services will be 3:30pm Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Pall bearers will be his grandchildren.
