Funeral services for Luis Alex Olivas, 37, of Jones Creek will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013, at St. Mary's Church in Freeport.
A viewing and rosary service will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. (rosary to begin at 5:00 p.m.) at Lakewood Funeral Chapel in Lake Jackson.
Alex was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on January 10, 1976. He attended Brazosport High School and worked for many years as a Safety Manager for Brand Solutions.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing with his brothers and close friends, and supporting his local Texans and Astros teams.
Alex was a jack of all trades when it came to working with his hands, and was always willing to help anyone with projects or whatever else they needed him for.
Survivors include his wife, Estela; his two sons, Alexander and Christofer, of Jones Creek; his parents, Florentino and Graciela Olivas, of Jones Creek; four brothers, Alan, of Brazoria, Ricky, of Freeport, Junior, of Richwood, and Marcos, of Jones Creek; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Alfonso Olivas; and aunt, Irma Rodrigues.
Alex never met a stranger and has and will continue to touch the lives of many.
He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Arrangements by the Turner Family.
