Patsy Hester Cumbie passed away at the age of 71 at her home in Lake Jackson, Texas on July 8, 2013.
Patsy was born on February 5, 1942 in Freeport, Texas to C.C. "Red" and Lillie "Jack" Hester. She graduated from Brazosport High School in 1960 and then attended Massey Business College. She met the love of her life, Dwight Cumbie, during a hurricane evacuation at the Brazoria County Courthouse where their families sought shelter.
They were married on August 19, 1961 and later moved to Lake Jackson and had three children. She loved people and enjoyed working as a young woman at Weingarten's in Freeport and later at Dillard's, where she worked for 18 years until retirement. Patsy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson. She a wonderful wife and mother and devoted Christian.
Patsy is survived by her children Kim Figueiredo, Cindy Dyess and Keith Cumbie; by grandchildren Dylan Dyess, Lauren Dyess, Marissa and Hayden Figueiredo and by nephew Tracy Hester.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 34 years, Dwight Cumbie and her brother, Mike Hester.
Funeral services for Patsy will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Pastor Chad Alexander officiating. Interment will follow at Restwood Cemetery.

So Sorry I missed the obituary and heard about Patsy's Passing later..we were classmates & Friends as I also graduated in the class of 1960....I want to send my deepest sympathy to the family of Patsy, she was a sweet lady and friend, I will miss her sweet smile...God bless you all.

I was so sad to hear about Patsy. I have known her for many years and would visit with her at Dilliards. She was always so friendly and sweet. My heart is with your family at this difficult time.Her sweet spirit will be missed.
