Metha Faye Muse Cobb, 90, of Oyster Creek, Texas went to be with her Lord on July 25, 2013. She was born August 7, 1922 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Lou Elizabeth and Robert Clifton Muse. Funeral services are set for Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Restwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Lakewood.

Known to everyone as Faye or Maw-maw, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Davy Ray Cobb. She is survived by two daughters and two sons; Becky Rasmussen and husband, Larry, of Oyster Creek; Anita Baxley and husband, David, of Waller; Charles Cobb and wife, Rita, of Brenham; and Joel Cobb and wife, Gaylyn, of Freeport; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by friend and caregiver, Susie Gomez and family, who helped care for her during her lengthy illness. She was very dear to her and a blessing to us all.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, J. B., Clyde, Roy, and Jim Muse; four sisters, Mary Ogle, Marie Allen, and two who died in infancy. She is survived by one sister, Opal Baldwin of Edmond, Okla.

Faye and Ray were married October 25, 1939 in Vernon, Texas. She lived in Arkansas and Oklahoma while Ray was in the military. They eventually moved to Rotan, Texas where they raised their family, and then moved to the Brazosport area in 1956. She accepted Christ into her life at Calvary Baptist Church in Rotan where she was baptized. She worshipped at the Oyster Creek United Methodist Church with family and friends.

Faye was a homemaker who loved to cook for her family and friends. She enjoyed fishing in coastal waters, was an avid gardener, and always had an abundant vegetable garden that she generously shared with neighbors and friends. She was able to prepare a feast from practically anything, and her table always had room for one more. She enjoyed taking long walks in her neighborhood and visiting all her neighbors.

Honorary Pallbearers are her grandsons Jason and Lance Rasmussen; Joel Brandon, Charles "Chaz", James, and David Cobb; and Donald "Buddy" Robison.

Your mom raised such a close family! From a distance I have heard wonderful things that show how much you cared for her. What she gave to you certainly returned to her in her final years.
My thoughts and prayers are for all the Cobbs.
