He started his career working at J.S. McKinney in 1988 as a pipefitter. He began working for Dow Chemical in March 1994. He was a very hard working and respected vessel & welding inspector. He recently traveled abroad to Sadara, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait and India for the Dow Sadara Project. He was known as the best in his business and would have celebrated his 30th year of service in 2014.
Mike was a very loving man of God who was always willing to help when he saw anyone in need. He was always ready to listen to everyone, encourage and give advice when asked. He was a member of Family Life Church and was formerly involved in helping to lead praise and worship and was also involved in leading the youth praise and worship band.
He loved talking about baseball, music, guitars, hunting, skateboarding and surfing. Mike could always be seen driving in his beloved Jeep. He shared his love for guitars with his sons Devin and Dalton. Some of his favorite guitars were his 1960 Re-Issue Gibson Les Paul and his Fender Stratocaster. He shared his love for adventure with his princess, Dallas.
He was preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Mildred Perry, his brother, Clarence "Ronnie" Perry and his sister-in-law, Donna Perry.
His precious memories will be cherished by, his son Devin Perry of Lake Jackson, TX, his son Dalton Perry of Huntsville, TX, his daughter Dallas Perry of Lake Jackson, TX, his sister Sheila Stevens and her husband Donald of Clute, TX, his sister Diane Grant and her husband Phil of Foreman, AR, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday 6pm until 8pm at Family Life Church.
A funeral service will be held on 10:30am Friday, September 20, 2013 at Family Life Church 220 Lake Road Lake Jackson, TX with Pastor Craig Taylor, Pastor Cedric Johnson, and Pastor Dale Frankum officiating.
Mike prayed this scripture over his children: Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

You cross my mind a lot Mike. So many memories spending our summer with your family. I lost touch after I was older and sure regret it. I would do anything to play some music with ya and tell you thanks for everything.
Love and miss you Mike

Mike was a co-worker and a friend. He loved to talk and to share, was a good listener. He had a huge heart. He was so proud of all of his kids, loved them so much, was so excited of all of their accomplishments. He was so willing to do anything for anyone. It's still very hard to believe he is no longer walking on this earth as we know it, but one day we will see him again. May he rest well with the angels.

Another fallen classmate is now in heaven...
Mike and I went to high school together at Brazoswood.
I always called him Wayne, by his middle name, as did many others. He was always a very sweet person and kind to others.
It saddens me that we have lost another classmate,
but I know he is in great company and in God's hands now.
I have added his name to the list of our fallen classmates of the Class of 1978.
My prayers are with his family,
Sincerely, Serena Kirby Formby

Mike will certainly be missed. I still cannot believe he is no longer here on Earth. I remember working with him for years in MTS and attending Monte Montgomery concerts on several occasions, sharing his passion for awesome guitarists. We were both avid fans. May the peace of the Lord be with his children and family as they grieve during this time.

It was a blessing to know Mike, and hear him playing the guitar at church. He made us laugh, and was a character, very original, one of a kind indeed. A very caring, compassionate, considerate, gentleman. A wonderful husband to Tracey, and loving father to Devin, Dalton, and Dallas. Our family will forever have him in our memories.

Tracy and family, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Everytime I see you guys on Facebook it brings back such fond memories of Branches of Faith youth group, the numerous times the young adults got together for fellowship, and the times you guys stood by me in tough times very early in my walk with God. I pray God's IMMENSE peace to flow over you all during this difficult time. Love and hugs!

My prayers are with Michael's family and friends. I worked with Mike on several occasions and it was a pleasure to work with him. He was as knowledgeable as any pressure vessel inspector at Dow Chemical. It was an honor and a privelege to have worked with him.
