Ray J. Hays, 100, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013. He was born October 22, 1913 in Freeport, Texas to John Thomas Hays and Vandetta Meadows Hays.

During his life he worked in the maintenance department at Dow Chemical Company.

The family will receive friends noon until service time at 2pm Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel.

The family requests donations to the Oyster Creek Methodist Church; P. O. Box 2602; Freeport, Texas 77542.

I will miss Uncle Ray. It was such a blessing to live to be 100, few people have so many years to influence the lives of their families. He always surprised us with something funny. He was a joy to have in our "Gathering" groups. It was amazing to see him dancing at 100!
