As an Austin High School PAL at the Rosedale School, I was fortunate enough to see James every week for 30 minutes last school year and into the present school year. He had a beautiful soul and a spirit that touched so many within the PALs program. We all loved James and will remember him fondly.
Warm wishes and love to James' family and friends.

Thank you for the oportunity to work with James...he taught me everyday more than I ever taught him. He was a light in Rosedale and in my life. I will miss him very much. He was an angel here on earth and in all of our lives and now he is a guardian angel for all of us.

Jessica and James were classmates for several years at Rosedale. She loved her James! Their teacher Brian Miller shared the lovely story he wrote for about James. Here is what I shared about James:
This young man was one of Jessica's "boys"--a sweet spirit with whom she shared years with at Rosedale School. I loved going to pick Jess up from school, because I would get to see James, pat him on his wide chest and grin when he looked at me with those intense eyes. He knew me--I could see it there. I would tell him what Jess and I were leaving to do. The few times I have been to Rosedale this year, I always tried to see our sweet James, parking Jess next to him and patting him on his wide chest. He knew me. I was so very saddened to hear that he had passed away. Keeping his family, teachers and friends close in thought and prayer today. Thanks Brian for sharing such beautiful words about our sweet James!!
Thank you for sharing him with us at Rosedale. I am forever changed by him and the moments shared. Jessica will miss her sweet James!! All our love and prayers for you all!!

I am sending thoughts and prayers to James' family. I had the great pleasure to be one of James' teachers while he attended The Rosedale School. He was a joy to have in my room and always had a smile for me. I remember his beautiful eyes as he looked at me and he always made me smile, too. He will be missed but the memories we all have will always be treasured. I am so lucky to have had him in my life.

Dick and Joan, it was such a pleasure to meet you all, and such an honor to work with James at Rosedale School. He was such a sweet, loving, happy young man! His smile lit up the whole room! We all enjoyed your visits to our classroom. It gave us all smiles, whenever James wore the Bear Hug t-shirt that y'all gave him. When you have a moment, please email me your snail mail address. I would like to send y'all a note. Thank you for sharing James with us. Truly, Mary K.

I spent a great year with James in PALs. He really helped me learn things about myself and about reality that I would've never had learned else where. He opened me up to new ways to think. So smart and so sweet, he will be dearly missed.

I have known James for the past few years through the PALs program. As I picture him, I can't help envisioning all of the dances, the games of hide and go seek, and the bonding moments he has shared with my students over the past few years. We will all miss him so much, but we celebrate the times that we had with him.

Heather: We are so sorry. We are with you in spirit. James is now forever free of earthly restraints. "How very softly you tiptoed into my world, almost silently and only a moment you stayed. But what in imprint your footsteps have left upon my heart". He will be in your heart forever.
