He was born May 13, 1933 in Cropwell, Alabama to Arthur Knopp and Marjorie Nell Knopp.
He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany, He worked for Dow Chemical Co. for 29 years and was Justice of the Peace in Clute and Lake Jackson for nine years. He served as pastor for Velasco Assembly of God Church for 3 1/2 years. He also did volunteer work for the Lake Jackson Police Dept.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen Wylie Knopp, of Lake Jackson; sons, David Lee Knopp, of Lake Jackson, daughters Amy and Angela, Roy Levi Knopp, Jr. and wife Barbara, of Midland, Michigan, son, Ryan and daughter, April and three great grandchildren, Sierra, Steven and Kayle; sisters, Bernice Brainerd and husband, Don, Joyce Fortner and husband, Alton and lots of nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Peggy Langford and Clara Knopp.

Roy was a great neighbor when he lived next door to my family in Freeport. He also umpired some of my baseball games. I'll be praying for the family during their time of loss of a fine man. Blessings and comfort to all. Bobby Arrington
