Mary "Grace" Jackson, 88, of Lake Jackson earned her wings Monday, April 7, 2014 at Cypress Woods in Angleton, Texas.
Grace was born in Bogota, Texas on December 19, 1925 to Jack and Nancy Gray. She has been a resident of Brazoria County since 1955.
She is preceded in death by her parents and beautiful daughter Deborah Jeane Bays; brothers J.R. and Harley Gray; and sisters Thelma "Sister" Smith and Hazel Wilson.
Grace worked as a telephone operator for South Western Bell during her younger years. She retired in 1987 from Western Savings & Loan after 34 years of dedicated service.
After Grace and William retired, they loved spending their time with their grandchildren, going camping and fishing.
Grace is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, William B. Jackson of Lake Jackson, Texas; son Terry Jackson and fiancé Lisa Farrish of Lake Jackson, Texas; grandchildren Michael and B! rett Bays ! of Lake Jackson, Texas; Staci Oakes and husband Shawn of Brazoria, Texas; Kaci and Justin Jackson of Lake Jackson, Texas; great-grandson Tyler Bays and great-granddaughters Haylie, Harlie and Journie Oakes; sisters Clelia "Red" Jones and Jackie Coleman; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and many other loving relatives and wonderful friends.
Pallbearers will be Justin Jackson, Shawn Oakes, Robert White, Russell White, Roger Lee White and Mike Jackson.
The family would love thank all of the wonderful nurses and staff at Elmcroft and Cypress Woods for their compassionate care. It's greatly appreciated! We could not have asked for better care for our Mammoo.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 2:00. Funeral services will follow at 3:30.
