Virginia Jimenez Martinez, 63, of Freeport went to be with the Lord July 6, 2014. She was born October 19, 1950 in Edinburg, Texas to Jose and Carlotta Jimenez. Virginia was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Angelica Martinez, and several brothers and sisters.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Manuel Martinez, of Freeport; four children, Joe Martinez and wife, Lenora, of Freeport, Melba Solis and husband, Eric, of Freeport, Gabriel Martinez and wife, Crystal, of Freeport, Angelica Carter and husband, Fredrick, of Lake Jackson; 13 grandchildren, Jessica, EJ, Laura, Marissa, Joe, Teresa, Willie, Brianna, Anthony, Christian, Aubrielle, Gabrielle and Manny; and six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Adrian, Khloe, Sabrina, Natalie and Jeremiah.
Pallbearers are EJ, Joe, Anthony, Willie, Fredrick and Josh. Honorary pallbearers are Gabriel and Joe.
The family will receive friends 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Lakewood Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 with Rosary services at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, July 10, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Edmund Eduarte officiating. Interment will follow at Restwood Cemetery.
Virginia was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was adored by her family and friends.
