Keith Wood, 82, of Freeport died Saturday, November 1, 2014. He was born August 4, 1932 in Centerville, Texas to Henry Gipson and Pauline Lynum Wood.
Keith has been an area resident since 1950. Keith serviced in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Dow Chemical Company for forty-one and a half years. He was a member of Velasco Masonic Lodge 757 for 56 years; Knights Templar in 1964; 32nd degree Scottish Rite since 1978; and the
El Mina Shrine Temple. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and sister in law, Garie and Wilma Wood; sister and brother in law Mary and Paul Webber;
sister: Henry Ellen Clark; brother in law and niece Ben and Lori Andrews; sister in law and infant nephew: Margaret and David Keith Wood.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carlene of Freeport,
son, Dennis Wood and wife Kim and their children: Carrie Phelps, Carley Day, Taylor and Michael Wood;
daughter Sandra Wood-Wicke and her sons Cyril Keith and Corey Wicke;
one brother Joe Wood of Centerville, Texas;
two sisters: Tua Andrews of Brazoria, Texas;
Dixie Wood of Houston, Texas.
Funeral services will be 3pm Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel with the Masonic Lodge officiating. Interment will be in Centerville, Texas.
Honorary Pall bearers will be: Ralph David, Milan Miller, Richard Turner, Brooks Bass, Dale Lindsey, and Dillon Wood.
