Ruby Allyne Harvell of Lake Jackson, Texas went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. She passed away after a long and courageous battle with heart disease.


Allyne was born November 3, 1928 in Dallas County, Texas to John William (Bill) and Minnie Isabel Schultz. She attended Clear Lake School and graduated from Princeton High School. After graduation she worked in McKinney, Texas and two years later married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Jack Harvell, who was serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Riley Kansas. Following their tour in the Army, Allyne and Jack moved to Freeport, Texas where Jack began working for the Dow Chemical Company. Allyne was a homemaker until her three daughters were in Junior High School. She then became the bookkeeper at Restwood Memorial Park where she worked until her retirement.


Allyne was a member of First Baptist Church Lake Jackson where she taught Kindergarten Sunday School and was a GA (Girls-In-Action) Leader. She was also involved in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department. Allyne enjoyed family vacations, cooking, sending cards and especially loved taking care of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Allyne is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Cloudt and husband, Gary of Damon, Texas; Deana Fuller and husband, Jimmy of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandchildren Jake Sims and wife Lee, Sallie Selman, Kevin Cloudt and Katie Cloudt; great-grandchildren Walker, Harper, Alyna, Avery and McKinley; sisters Shirley Akin (Tommy) and Patsy Foster; brother Ted Schultz (Alice) all of Wylie, Texas; brother-in-law Jerry Smith of McKinney, TX and Coy Deets; special cousin Billie Ruth Mills and many nieces and nephews.


Allyne was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Jack Harvell; daughter and son-in-law Janet and Gary Sims; parents Bill and Minnie Schultz; brother Billy Schultz (wife Geneva); sisters Bettye Smith and Frances Deets, brother-in-law Mickey Foster, cousin Billy Ray Mills and two nephews.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department (5 Oak Drive, Lake Jackson, TX 77566), Lake Jackson EMS (10 Oak Drive, Lake Jackson, TX 77566) or His Love (310 Flag Lake Drive, Lake Jackson, TX 77566).


The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Scott Harris of Brazosport Cardiology PA who cared for mom for over 22 years.
The family will receive friends noon Monday until service time. A Celebration of Life will be 2pm, Monday, December 1, 2014 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel in Clute with Rev. Chad Alexander officiating.

Dear Rhonda, Deana, and family,
