Wayne Burton Smith
Wayne Burton Smith, 87, of Lake Jackson, TX passed away on November 27, 2014 at Oak Village Healthcare Facility. Wayne was born May 17, 1927 in DeQueen, AR to Alena Beauchamp Smith and George Dewey Smith. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Monica Seminek, his second wife, Eva McCombs, and his older son, Scott Wayne Smith. He leaves behind a sister, Lucille Trout of Lake Jackson, a son, Craig S. Smith (Kathleen) of CA, a niece, Judy Hequembourg (Stephen) of IL, a great niece, Laura Szuberla (John) of IL, a great nephew, Jeffrey Hequembourg (Wendy) of GA, and 8 great great nieces and nephews.
Wayne served his country in the U. S. Navy and earned his Bachelor's degree at SMU and a Master's degree in CA. He worked for Lockheed Martin Corp. in a managerial capacity until his retirement. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Lake Jackson. He was an avid reader and enjoyed football and baseball. He will be missed by many.
A memorial luncheon will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in the Angelina Room on January 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Please join us to celebrate Wayne's life. Any donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Michael's Church.
