Adam graduated from Indiana University with an undergraduate degree in Biology. He was accepted in to the Indiana University School of Medicine but God chose a different path for him. He worked at Purdue University as an Industrial Hygienist and also obtained his Master's degree in Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences.
In 2011 Adam joined the Dow Chemical family and moved his family from Indiana to Texas. Although his employment wasn't long he still made a huge impact on the company and coworkers. In 2014, Adam was selected by independent professionals in his field to participate in the American Industrial Hygiene Associations' prestigious Future Leaders Institute. He also led Dow's Global Hazard Awareness team and interacted with employees world-wide. Adam became an associate industrial hygiene manager in Dow's IH expertise center. Adam was part of a team of experts located all over the world. Living his passion to help protect worker health both locally, and across all of Dow.
Adam's true passion was his family. He was the best husband and daddy to three beautiful young children. He enjoyed swimming, playing basketball, going on long walks, taking his son to the skate park, and enjoying time at the beach. Although he was a hard-working man, he always had time for his family and made sure we were happy.
Adam is preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Don Elliott (wife Cletha) of Logansport, IN, Ken McLeland (wife Mary) of Royal Center, IN, and Mark Tyler (wife Jean) of Logansport, IN, mother, Darla Elliott of Logansport, IN, his father-in-law, Mark Clements of Indianapolis, IN.
He is survived by his dad, Gary McLeland (wife Cathy) of Rochester, IN, his mother-in-law, Carol Clements of Indianapolis, IN, his wife, Kim McLeland of Lake Jackson, and their three children, Jillian, Max, and Allison, sister-in-law Melissa Fletcher (husband William), sister-in-law, Kelly Clements, brother-in-law, Korey Clements (wife Tasha). Dearest Kim and Children,
I was heart broken when Elizabeth informed me of your husband's passing. The most comforting words I have to give you at this time are that all of you are in the palm of God's hands. God will carry you and your precious children through these troubled times and He will hold you all close to His heart. Adam is face to face with his heavenly Father and he is at peace. May the love and peace of God that passes all understanding be with you and your children. God be with you.
