Tyler Alan Rhoades
Funeral services for Tyler Alan Rhoades, age 14, of Lake Jackson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Kenneth McClenny officiating.
Visitation will be held at Lakewood on Friday, June 12, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Tyler Alan Rhoades lost his battle with cancer (osteosarcoma) on June 10, 2015. Tyler was born July 21, 2000, in Galveston, Texas, to Michelle Warner Rhoades and Dustin Alan Rhoades.
He was a freshman at Brazoswood High School and enjoyed theater and choir. He also was in choir at LJI for two years. He was a wonderful, loving, outgoing young man who never met a stranger. He will be missed by so many.
Survivors include his mother, Michelle Warner Rhoades, of Lake Jackson; father, Dustin Alan Rhoades and fiancé, Bryn Erin Henslee, of Richwood; siblings, Austin D. Johnson, of Lake Jackson, Brooklynn M. Rhoades, of Lake Jackson, Nicholas A. Rhoades, of Richwood; maternal grandparents, Millie and Vern Serfass, of Long v iew; paternal grandparents, Alan and Judy Rhoades, of Galesburg, IL; great-grandmother, Joan Rhoades, of Galesburg, IL; paternal aunts, great-aunt, Evelyn Nelson, of Galesburg, IL and aunt, Cathy Davis, of Galesburg, IL; m aternal aunts and uncles, Verlane and Mike Townsend, of North Carolina, Shane Serfass, of Longview, Shawn and Robin Serfass, of Longview, Sherry and Steve Early, of Longview, Kim and Kyle Hammonds, of Freeport, Keith Warner, of Longview, Larry Warner, of Missouri, Frank and Brittany Serfass, of Longview, Dane Serfass, of Nevada, Shayse Cope, of Arizona; maternal cousins Elizabeth, of Angleton, Ricky, Kayla, Justin, Jordan, and Jonathan, all of Longview; and numerous more loving cousins and friends.

I never met Tyler, but through the videos, pictures, and stories online, I've come to know a little about this young man. I never saw him without a smile, and I never saw him without loved ones around him. This was a wonderful, young man, full of life, passion, strength, and happiness.
