Bessie Stevens, 89, of Lake Jackson, went to the arms of God, Thursday, June 18, 2015. She was born Oct. 30, 1925 in Orange, Texas to Burley and Edna Frames. She was an area resident since 1959. Bessie was a life long member of the United Pentecostal Church and served as a minister's wife in Clute for twenty years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 siblings, and one grand daughter Regina Kay Wynn.
Bessie is survived by her husband of 70 years, Rev. L. L. Stevens of Lake Jackson, 3 children: Linda Wynn and husband Marshall of Houston, Don Stevens and wife Treva of Angleton, Sandra Elliot and husband Don of Turlock, California, 6 grandchildren: Cindy Long, Ryan Elliot, Scott Stevens, Shauna Elliot, Kristi Whitten, Donna Coleman, 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends 6pm until 9pm Monday at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:30am, Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at The Rock Church (Main/Pecan in Clute, 77531) with Rev. Ron Guidroz officiating.
