James "Sonny" King

James "Sonny" King, 76, was granted his wings on June 21, 2015. He spent his final days surrounded by his family, whom comforted him and held his hand until the end of his journey.


He is now reunited in heaven with his parents, Elix and Clydia King; beloved wife, Margaret King; his son, Charles; grandson, Christopher; brother, Archie King; sisters, Shirley Kirby and Sharon King.


His legacy will live on through his surviving children, son, Randy (Forest Jane); daughter, Cathy Chapman (Dwayne), and daughter, Carolyn; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth King, Vic King, Larry King; and sisters, Barbara Galliton, Alyce Robertson, Betty Woods, and Sue Jones. His family and friends will cherish his memory for the rest of their days.


James's family will host a viewing at Lakewood Chapel on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Freeport at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Graveside services will follow at Gulf Prairie Cemetery in Jones Creek.
