Guillermina Barros Castillo "Granny"
Guillermina Barros Castillo "Granny", 86, of Freeport passed from this life peacefully at her home on Monday, June 29, 2015, at 11:07 a.m. with family by her bedside.
She was born February 18, 1929, in Orizaba, Veracruz to Amada Ponce and Crisoforo Barros. She panted her roots in Del Rio, Texas, in 1976.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Alberto Castillo; her parents; her siblings and in-laws.
Our mother was affectionately known as "Granny" to all family and friends.
"God looked around his garden and found an empty space, Then He looked down upon his earth and saw your tired face, He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest, God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best."
She is survived by her children, Maria Ines B. Escobedo (Aniceto Escobedo), of Freeport, Jose Luis Barros (Elida Barros), of Freeport, Fransico Barros (Yolanda Barros), of San Antonio, Oscar Barros, of Freeport, and Maria T. Galindo, of San Antonio; her grandchildren, Jose M. Escobedo, Armando Escobedo, Virginia Cervanka, Ines Hood, Analilia Phillips, Mayra Martinez, Joey Barros Yolanda Toscano, Yezenia Campos, Oscar Barros Jr, Omar Barros, Albert Barros, Jennifer Mariscal, Jessica Rios; as well as 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. for everyone on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with a religious service at 7:00 p.m.
