Emma Lucille Trout
Emma Lucille Trout, affectionately known as Lucy, passed away on Dec. 29, 2015. She would have been 94 on Jan. 4th.
She leaves behind her daughter, Judy (Steve) Hequembourg, step-children Dee Ann (Tom) Glenn, Kelly (Ken) Teaff, and Lee (Audrey) Trout, a nephew, Craig (Kathleen) Smith, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Wayne Smith.
Lucy was born in Blevins, Arkansas where she spent a good part of her life. She was married to Bert Scott, Jr. and was a school teacher during World War II, then later became a Post Master in Arkansas.
After she was widowed, she married William Trout and moved to Lake Jackson, Texas where she had a good life with many close friends and relatives. Lucille loved all things Irish and English.
One of her favorite sayings was "I've traveled a long way on many roads and some of them were not paved."
She also enjoyed music, gardening, movies, reading and the Astros.
Along with her family, she enjoyed and loved her friends and caregivers at Elmcroft Assisted Living, her special hospice nurses from Altus, and Pastor Thomas. A service honoring Lucy will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 98 N. Dixie Drive in Lake Jackson on Wednesday January 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Altus Hospice Foundation or a charity of your choice.
