Nancy O'Niel Pritchett Mod was born in Indiantown, SC, on October 31, 1923. She passed from this life on December 29, 2015, in Livonia, MI.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William August Mod.
Services will be held on January 8, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Lake Jackson First Presbyterian Church.
Nancy grew up in South Carolina, attending Montreat College. She then went to Vicksburg, Mississippi, where she completed nursing school. Upon graduation, she went to work at the Ochner Clinic in New Orleans, LA. She and her friend, Margo Baker, heard that the Dow Hospital was hiring, so off they went to Freeport, Texas.
She met and married Bill Mod in 1956. Their daughter, Sarah, was born in 1958. Nancy worked in the Lake Jackson Allergy Clinic until she decided to retire. She and Bill moved to Michigan, in 2013, to be closer to family.
After retiring, Nancy and Bill spent many spring months helping Mo-Ranch Presbyterian Assembly prepare for the summer camping season. They also travelled to Colorado, where they would spend many summers away from the coastal heat.
After their grandchildren were born, they spent summers in Michigan. There they read, played and relaxed with their family.
Nancy enjoyed nursing, sewing, crocheting, cooking, traveling, spending time with her grandchildren and serving her church family in Freeport and Lake Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
