Alma Jean Matlock

Alma Jean Matlock, age 90, of Lake Jackson, TX, went to be with her Heavenly Father on 03/07/2016. Graveside funeral services and interment will be held at Restwood Memorial Park on Saturday, March 12th, 2016 at 10:00 am. Pastor Brent Bowers will be officiating.

Alma Jean Wade Matlock was born in Savoy, Texas on 09/24/1925. Mrs. Matlock was a school teacher in Clute, Texas for 21 years, teaching 3rd and 5th grade, until her retirement in 1970. After retirement, Mrs. Matlock devoted her time to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, drawing, singing gospel hymns, and working in her flower garden.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jack Dalton Matlock, in 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Della and Willie Wade, brother, Jessie Wade, and sister Bonnie King.

Mrs. Matlock is survived by her sister Bernice Humphries, brother B.F. Wade, daughters Bobbie Franklin and Theresa Gay, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.
