Anna Isabella Cammack

With Heavy Hearts, Anna Isabella Hibler Cammack passed away on March 23, 2016, in Angleton, Texas at the age of 77. Isabell was born June 23, 1938 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston to Prentis William and Cora Lorean Reynolds Hibler. Before Prentis' death in 1942, the family moved to Lampasas, Texas. In 1946, Lorean married Alvin Lloyd Guess. Alvin moved his family to Brazoria when he went to work for Dow Chemical in 1948.
Isabell graduated the 8th grade from Brazoria School District in 1952. She then went on to graduate West Columbia High School in 1956. She met James K. Cammack while she was working at Parker's Grocery Store in Brazoria. They were married on August 2, 1957. James & Isabell made their home just outside Brazoria for 49 years. During the years they were married, they were blessed with 3 children Mildred, Charlene & Michael. In the early 70's, James & Isabell were charter members of the Brazoria Girls' Softball Association, where Isabell became the "Official Scorekeeper". She and James were active in the Texas Rural Letter Carrier's Association; traveling all over Texas and the United States to attend meetings & conventions. For over 45 years, she was active in the Brazoria County Home Demonstration Club, Brazoria Achievers EEA. She enjoyed entering her Home Canning Goods and Crocheted items in the Brazoria County Fair. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brazoria for 59 years.
Isabell got great joy in making crochet Afghans and other items for others. For the past 2 ½ years, she lived at Cypress Woods Care Center in Angleton, where she became acclimated to living with the residents; she had 2 special roommates, Kathleen Cameron and Carole Cole. She loved to remember her special friends and family member by sending greeting cards. Mom loved to cook, whether it was for the weekend "Hay Hauling Crew", baking cookies, her infamous 7-up Pound cake, or Old Fashioned Chocolate Fudge (without nuts for her daughter, Mildred).
Isabell is preceded in death by her husband, James; parents; and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
She is survived by her children: Daughters, Mildred Lorene Cammack of Richwood; Charlene Buck (Steve) of Missouri City; and Michael James Cammack of Elm Mott. Granddaughters: Holly Michala Cammack of Brazoria, and Stephanie Buck Jonkers (Reid) of Dublin, Ireland. Brother, Otis Hibler of Bulverde; Sisters: Kathy Guess Brown of San Antonio, and Phyllis Guess Randall of Duncanville; Uncle Donald Hibler of Oatmeal, Texas; Brother-in-law, Bill Cammack (Nancy) of Beltsville, MD; Sisters-in-law Catherine Henry of Lake Jackson, and Emily Bierschwale (Carlton) of Junction; Special Friend of 50 years, Ruby Brenek of Brazoria; and, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from all over.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. Monday March 28, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in Brazoria. Funeral Services will be at 3pm Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in Brazoria; with Rev Debbie Measells officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Gulf Prairie Cemetery in Jones Creek. Pallbearers: Stephen and Keith Hibler; Jeff Heidaker, Kurt Buchanan; David McKelroy, and Ken Hedrick, Honorary Pallbearers: David Brown, Bill Clarke, Bill Logsdon, Richard McLaren, Jerry Measells, Keith Brenek, Leonard Meier, and Jack Taylor.
The family would like to thank the staff at Cypress Woods Care Center for your love and care for our mother for the past 2 ½ years. And, a special thank you to the doctors and staff at UTMB in Galveston - Neuro-ICU and ACE Unit; and AMED Hospice for the care you gave our mom in her final days.
