Inez Gutirrez

Inez Gutirrez, 94, of Lake Jackson, Texas, went to be with the lord on May 14, 2016. Inez was born July 19, 1921 in Victoria, Texas, to Ignacio and Olivia Gutirrez. Inez served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II, he was a valued employee of the B.I.S.D for over 30 years. Inez was a deacon at Primera Iglesia Bautista de Clute for over 40 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 72 years, Jessie Gutirrez; brother, Carlos Gutierrez; grandson, Paul Anthony Luna; and great-grandson, Albert James Cisneros. Inez is survived by four daughters, Rebeca Moreno (Richard), Beatrice Vasquez (Leonel), Irma Luna (Ralph), Ruth Meza; ten grandchildren, Samuel Moreno (Mary), Bruce Luna (Brandie), Miguel Moreno (Kimberly), Tomas Luna (Tonya), Cristoval Moreno (Sonya), Mona Lisa Mata (Kevin), Joseph Luna (Tonia), Ricky Meza (Varonica), Melissa Marie Lara (Fabian), Daniel Meza (Yvette); 31 great-grandchildren, which included his "special little medicine" Noelle Elise Lara; one brother, Daniel Gutierrez; special cousin, Alice Ramirez. PallBearers will be Samuel Moreno, Cristoval Moreno, Tomas Luna, Joseph Luna, Ricky Meza, Danny Meza. Honorary Pallbearers are Bruce Luna, Paul Anthony Luna II, Mona Lisa Mata, Melissa Marie Luna, Miguel Moreno. Inez has now joined his beautiful and loving wife of 72 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His pride for the country he served during WWII was shown by his favorite hat that he wore daily. Some of his favorite things to do were making wood crafts in his garage, watching John Wayne movies and camping with his grandkids. He loved spending time with his family telling stories of his days in the army, growing up with his brothers and father on the ranch but most importantly telling stories of how he fell in love with grandma.The love he had for his family was immeasurable, to know him was to love him. He was a role model, teacher, protector, but most of all hero to all that knew him.
