William Phillip Frazier

William Phillip Frazier, 81, of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016. He was born August 17, 1934 in Hillsboro, Texas to Richard Martin Frazier and Elma Madison Frazier. He married Adelle Urick on October 6, 1961. A man of faith, Phil was a devoted and loving husband, beloved and caring father and a proud and adoring grandfather. He was of the Methodist faith. Baptized as an infant, he always found a church home and was a giving and faithful servant. In recent years, he enjoyed worshiping at Chapelwood United Methodist Church as well as his childhood home church, Abbott Methodist Church in Abbott, Texas. Phil was a 1957 graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry. He loved visiting the campus and attending homecoming events as a family. He served his country as an Army Missile Instructor stationed at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, Texas. Following he served in the Texas Army National Guard. Phil arrived in Brazoria County in 1959 to begin a 33-year career in Research with Dow Chemical. In 1992, he joined Mineral Research and Development as Quality Assurance Director and retired after 19 years. Many would also remember his smiling face as co-owner of The Strawberry Patch. Phil is survived by his wife of 54 years, Adelle Urick Frazier; daughters, Sandra Frazier and Phyllis Frazier of Lake Jackson, Texas; son, Ric Frazier and wife, Ani of Gatineau, Canada; four grandchildren, Mackenzie, Loic, Oceane and Oazis; twin sister, Ellen Gerlich; cousins, Mary Davis, Darlene Kettleborough, Dr. Conway Patterson plus many nieces and nephews. His beloved poodle, Tiffany, was a loyal companion for many years and always by his side. A Service of Celebration for the Life of William Phillip Frazier will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016, Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 300 Willow Drive, Lake Jackson, Texas. The family of Phil Frazier would like to express heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, encouragement and acts of kindness shown during this past year. The Staff of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, numerous relatives and friends along with Phil's caring team of doctors, nurses, aides and therapists will always hold a special place in our hearts.
