The world lost a wonderful man and kind soul with the passing of John (JJ) Virtue Jones, 64, on July 24th, 2016. JJ was born on October 15, 1951, the son of Homer Virtue and Laura Lee Jones in Rockdale, Texas. He was one of seven children. Known for his integrity and desire to put others before himself, JJ was a caring and loving man who always made people smile with a sweet comment or a simple bear hug. JJ was a dedicated husband to his wife Ann of seven years and a wonderful father to his children; Coty and husband Rodney, Brandy and husband Brice, Natalie and husband Matt, and Wade. He was idolized by his nine grandchildren; Lane, Tyler, Dustyn, Brynna, Dylan, Shea, Bronson, Jackson, and Kallen. He was employed at Bechtel Oil and Gas and was a self admitted workaholic. In his spare time, he was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He was always up for a round of golf and enjoyed participating in BBQ cook-offs. In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, JJ is survived by his mother, Laura Jones; his brothers, Gordon and wife, Elaine, and Albert and wife, Jan; his sisters, Patsy and husband, Jesse, and Rosemary and husband, Aubrey; and numerous nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his father, Homer Jones; and brothers, Robert and Homer Lee. JJ provided a glowing example of how to live life through a commitment to professional and personal excellence. He touched the world in a positive light in many ways, leaving a legacy of joy, class, and love. JJ and his family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of his close friends that checked in on him as well as his two nephews Justin and Bo for their unwavering support during the last few days of JJ's life. You made a huge difference in our lives and we truly appreciate you. We would also like to thank Mark Miles, who was a like a son to JJ, for honoring his life by officiating the memorial service.
