Talmage Ray Whiteside

Talmage Ray Whiteside, 93, of Richwood, passed away on September 2, 2016, surrounded by his family. Tal was born in Normangee, Texas on November 25, 1922 to Allen Teague and Gladys Bledsoe Whiteside. Tal served in World War II in the US Army Air Corps and was a member of the Greatest Generation. His career as a CPA included positions at West Texas State University, Sam Houston State University, and the University of Texas at Austin. Upon retirement, Tal and his wife, Harriet, enjoyed many years of camping across the United States and Canada before moving from Austin to Seattle, Washington. Tal was a devoted husband, wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and terrific father-in-law. Tal is survived by his wife of 68 years, Harriet; children, Kathleen Lindsey (Erle), of Lake Jackson, Texas, Ann Dalton (Bill), of Jacksonville, Florida, Allen Whiteside (Abby), of Peyton, Colorado, and Rosemary Whiteside (Dave Silldorff), of Seattle, Washington; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Special thanks are extended to Sue Patterson and Help, Inc., Country Village Care, and A-Med Community Hospice for the loving support and care they provided Tal over the last three years. There will be a family graveside service to celebrate Tal's life in the spring at Stanford Chapel in Hewitt, Texas. Tal will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
