Carolyn Smith Pyle, 76, of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away Friday, December 9, 2016. She was born December 25, 1939 in Bremond, Texas to Dr. J.U. Smith and Lucille Doty Smith. Carolyn came to Freeport in 1963 and taught home making at Brazosport High School. Later she taught at Bay City High School and La Marque High School. She owned and operated the General Store for Kids. Carolyn was a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents,

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, G. Clinton Pyle of Lake Jackson, Texas,
4 children: Angela Pyle McCabe and husband Michael of Lake Jackson,
Meredith Pyle of Lake Jackson, Jared Pyle and wife Laura of Lake Jackson,
Richard Pyle of Lake Jackson, 3 grand children: Matthew, Grant, and Logan.

Funeral services will be 4:30pm Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Lake Jackson with Rev. Mark Crawford officiating. A private interment will be at the Houston National Cemetery.
