Marvin Wayne Pate, 77, of Clute passed away Monday, March 13, 2017. He was born November 4, 1939 in Harlingen, Texas to Marvin Ottis Pate and Bertie Mae Vernon Pate. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 until 1965. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry Lynn Pate. Marvin is survived by two children: Chuck Pate and wife Cheri of Clute, Jamie Buchanan and husband Daniel of Richwood 5 grandchildren: Morgan Pate, Meagan Pate, Maddison Pate, Jacob Pate and Tristan Garvin, brother, Melvin Pate and wife Alberta of Baton Rouge, La., sister, Martha Coates and husband Michael of Waco, Texas, sister-in-law, Lola Pate of Jourdanton, Texas, ex- wife and very best friend Judy Pate of Clute, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends noon until 1pm at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be 2pm Friday, March 17, 2017 at Restwood Cemetery.
