Barbara Deloris Slaughter

Barbara Slaughter-Smith, 81, Lake Jackson, Texas went home to her Savior Thursday, March 16, 2017. She was born January 16, 1931 to Harvey and Minnie Reynolds in Limestone County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson. During her life she worked for Southwestern Bell and its affiliates for over forty years. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, C. R. (Buddy) Slaughter and John R. Smith, son, Charles David Slaughter and seven siblings. Barbara was survived by 5 grandchildren: Tra` Slaughter, Buddy Slaughter, Brianna Slaughter, Ashley and Charli Slaughter; one great granddaughter Harper Slaughter, daughter-in-law, Ximena Valenti (Don), sister-in law, Dolores Reynolds, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 7pm until 9pm Thursday at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral services 10:30am Friday, March 24, 2017 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. The family requests donations to the Missions Offering at First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson or the American Cancer Society, 11800 Astoria Blvd, Houston, Texas 77089.
