Eddie Prihoda Jr., age 71, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in Houston after an extended illness. He was born April 09, 1946 to the late Eddie Prihoda and Isabel Stolle. He attended Wharton High School. Eddie was academically talented with a great love for football. In 1965, he married his high school sweetheart, Ginger Samohly. Eddie served in the U.S. Army, Nike Hercules missile, during the Vietnam War. He was a talented craftsmen and master carpenter in cabinetry and furniture. He enjoyed cooking BBQ, fishing, family, and spending time at the VFW. In his last years, he enjoyed gardening in his housecoat, drink in hand. Eddie Prihoda Jr. was an amazing soul.
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Weller in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO WHAT A RIDE!"
He is survived by his loving wife, Ginger Prihoda, daughters; Michaele Gregory (Wally), April Vaughn (Chris), granddaughters; Kourtney Gregory, Brianna Walker, Hannah Vaughn, grandson; Gunner Vaughn, great-grandsons; Jayston and Jayvion Shockley, and many special loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents; Eddie Prihoda and Isabel Stolle. Pallbearers will be; Charles Atkinson, Robert Newlin, Trevor Curd and Matthew Wells. Honorary pallbearers will be; Gunner Vaughn.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Laura Olson officiating. Interment will be held at Restwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Lakewood Funeral Chapel at 1:00pm on Friday, April 14, 2017.
