After 34 years of managing the Credit Union, Wanna spent 15 years working as the District Office Manager for the Brazoria County Senate Office of Senator Buster Brown and Senator Kyle Janek. We all remember Wanna as a "Take Charge" person. She modeled grace and integrity in all of her accomplishments, and influenced those around her to strive for excellence. She loved everyone that came in her path, and reached out to bring people together. She was known to "fix the broken," heal the sick and serve others compassionately. She exemplified servant leadership, but taught all of us that love was our greatest denominator, no matter if we seemed unlovable. Her unwavering commitment to others made her our "go to" friend. She gave Godly advice freely, and taught others to trust in our Lord at all times. Wanna was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She served many years as President of PEO, a philanthropic women's organization. She also served two years as the President of Riverside Country Club. She loved playing tennis and continued to play until last year. There are 34 championship trophies on her side of the trophy case. Wanna poured life into others through her work, through her family and through her many other passions girls' softball coach, VOE students, tennis, mission trips to Malaysia, Africa, Switzerland, and St Louis; LJ Church of Christ, High School Girls' Class, Ladies Class, PEO, Brazoria County Day in Austin Committee, East Freeport Church of Christ VBS, Singing Hills and Camp Bandina Christian Camps, and Habitat for Humanity. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harold Dean Cox; her daughters and sons in law Debbie and Greg Brooke of Plano, Jamie and Keith Lawlis of Round Rock. Her pride and joy are her four grandsons Daniel Brooke, Christian Brooke, Sam Lawlis, and Jacob Lawlis and her first granddaughter, Sam's wife, Rachel.
