Barbara Ann Lasagna

Barbara Ann (Reed) LaSagna went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 23, 2018. Born February 5, 1934, Barbara was the oldest child born to Coy and Lynell Reed in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Barbara graduated from Tivy High School in Kerrville, Texas in 1952. In 1953 she entered Lillie Jolly School of Nursing at Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas, and graduated in 1956. In April of that same year, she married Larry LaSagna, the love of her life. After state boards, she went on to work in various areas of nursing until 1972 when she and Larry, along with their three children, moved to the Brazosport area. In August of that same year she began work at the Brazoria County Health Department. After 38 years and giving immunization shots to generations of children throughout the Brazosport area, she retired in April 2006. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; granddaughter, Terah LaSagna; her parents, Coy and Lynell Reed; and stepmother, Lola Reed. She is survived by sons, Phil LaSagna and wife, Robyn, of Brenham and Tony LaSagna and wife, Tonya, of Lake Jackson; daughter, Cathie Strother , of Brazoria; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Shirley Dommert, Coyleen McCarty and husband, Craig; brothers, Buddy Reed and wife, Debbie and Tim Reed and wife, Vickie. She is also survive by many nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Lakewood Chapel in Lake Jackson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nursing Scholarship Program at Brazosport College.
