Paul Layton BrillonI am a Veteran.
11/23/1938 - 1/9/2024

In fond remembrance of Paul Layton Brillon, affectionately known as Layton, a man whose Texan spirit and zest for life touched the hearts of all who knew him. Layton's journey began in the heart of Texas, where he learned to appreciate life's grandeur through its simplicity.

Having served in the Navy during his youth, Layton carried the disciplined spirit of a sailor throughout his life. A true outdoorsman, he found solace and joy in the vast landscapes of Texas. His love for fishing became a defining passion, spending countless days on his boat, absorbing the tranquility of the water and reveling in the beauty of the Texas landscape.

A seasoned painter and an ingenious handyman, Layton's talents knew no bounds. He could fix, create, or improvise anything that came his way. His ability to "jerry-rig" solutions became legendary among family and friends, a testament to his resourcefulness and determination.

In the tapestry of his life, Layton wove a loving partnership with Vickie Brillon, his devoted wife of two decades. Together, they embraced the simple pleasures - the warmth of the Texas Sun, a cold beer in hand, and the company of each other. Their commitment became a beacon of inspiration for those fortunate enough to witness it.

Layton's legacy extends to his daughter, Kimberly Wetzelberger, and her husband Mark Wetzelberger, his son Brian Brillon, his grandchildren Nicky Wetzelberger and Robbie Wetzelberger. Their families, along with Layton's five great-grandchildren, continue to carry the torch of his memory.

In the embrace of eternity, Layton is joyfully reunited with his beloved mother, Ida Elizabeth Ford, his father, Edmond R Brillon, and his siblings: Ida Geraldine Standefer, Ana Eileen Taylor, Edmond R Brillon, George R Brillon, Joseph R Brillon, and James W Brillon. As he joins them in the peaceful beyond, Layton's memory lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in his remarkable journey.

Today, let us honor Layton's memory by stepping outside, feeling the warmth of the sun on our faces, and raising our glasses in a heartfelt cheers to a life lived fully and a legacy that will endure through the ages.
