LaVonda Kay Potts

LaVonda Potts, age 53, of Richwood, Texas, lost her battle with cancer Friday the 19th of July surrounded by loved ones. Born in Alvin, Texas, March 22, 1971, LaVonda worked and resided in Lake Jackson as a successful realtor. She was baptized in 1994 and was a loving wife, mother, daughter, cousin, grandmother, and friend who touched many lives with her kindness and generosity. LaVonda is survived by her loving family: John Potts, husband of 27 years; her mother, Beverly Rude; her daughter and son-in-law, Kayla and Toby Canard; her son, Sonnie Potts; and her daughter, Samantha Potts. She will also be greatly missed by her siblings Brian Weinkauf, Christian Weinkauf, Jonathan Tramonte, Joey Tramonte, Jeff Tramonte, and Jennifer Page. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Hunter Layman, Mason Watley and Warren Potts who were her pride and joy and lovingly called her Nana. Cousins, Gina Rowe and Trampus Mills; nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Weinkauf, Kennon Weinkauf, Kelsey Owens, and Everly Weinkauf. Lastly, she will be missed by her fur babies, Louie, Lexie, and Logan, and will be greatly missed by her best friend in the world, Lori King. LaVonda was preceded in death by her grandmother, Frances Curry; her father, Joseph Tramonte; her nephews, Christian Weinkauf Jr. and Josh Weinkauf; her aunt, Barbara Mills; and her beloved dogs, Marcus, Tank, and Bree. LaVonda loved dogs and cherished her home, which served as the hub of the family where countless memories were made. In her professional career, she had a passion for real estate and achieved many accomplishments, including being named Rookie of the Year in her first year. She earned several real estate certifications and served as the Vice President of the Brazoria County Board of Realtors in 2015 and was then elected President of the Board in 2016. LaVonda also received numerous Texas Monthly Five Star awards. With all of these great achievements, nothing compared to the love she had for her family. LaVonda also enjoyed traveling the world or anything that allowed her to spend time with her family and friends. Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by a service at 2:30 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Jackson, Texas. Cory Grayson will officiate the service.
