Regina Kay Niemeyer

Regina Kay Niemeyer of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away on January 18th, 2025, at the age of 69. She was at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. Regina was born on February 10, 1955.
She grew up in Freeport, Texas and went to Brazosport High School. Regina would meet her future husband, Robert Niemeyer, as a freshman in high school there. She loved high school and particularly the drill team. After graduating, in 1973, she enrolled at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. After graduating there in 1976, she came home to join her parents' family business, White's Auto Store. This store would eventually become J-Mac's Home Furnishings, which she and her brother, Ron McFatridge, co-owned for over 40 years until they retired.
Regina and Robert Niemeyer were married on July 17th, 1976, where they enjoyed 49 years together. They had 2 children, Dwan Niemeyer of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Chad Niemeyer of Houston, Texas. She also enjoyed her two grandchildren, David and Eva Niemeyer, born to Chad and his wife, Lauren. She adored them both.
Regina was best known for her devotion to God and family. She never met a stranger and was the most selfless, kindest person you could have known.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Marge McFatridge of Lake Jackson, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Niemeyer, and children, Dwan Niemeyer, Chad Niemeyer, his wife, Lauren, and two grandchildren, David and Eva Niemeyer. Also, her brother, Ron McFatridge, his wife, Sue McFatridge of New Braunfels, Texas, niece, Lana McFatridge of Dallas, Texas, and nephew, Michael McFatridge of San Antonio, Texas.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Regina's life at the visitation on Friday, January 24th, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Chapelwood United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be on Saturday, January 25th, at 10 am, also at Chapelwood United Methodist Church on Willow Drive, in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Donations may be made in Regina's honor to Chapelwood United Methodist Church, or a charity of your choice.
