Carolyn Rose Gifford

Carolyn Rose (Rosie) Gifford, 52, of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away, Friday, May 20, 2011 from a short bout of pneumonia. She was born October 3, 1958 in Freeport, Texas to Johnny and Xavier Gifford.

She worked at the Brazoria County Work Activity Center for around 30 years. Rosie was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her father Johnny Gifford and her 2 brothers: Steve and Bobby Gifford.

Rosie is survived by her mother Xavier Gifford,

2 sisters Evelyn Laird and Kathy Follett and husband Jim,

4 brothers: Larry Gifford and wife, Becky,

David Gifford and wife Ladonna,

Pat Gifford,

Gary Gifford and wife Michelle, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6pm until 8pm Thursday at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday, May 27, 2011 with Monsignor Leo Wleczyk officiating. Pall bearers will be her brothers and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the hospice nurses at Memorial Hermann Southwest in Houston, Texas and her care givers, especially, Paulette Wilridge from her group home in Sugarland, Texas.
