Thelma M. Woodruff

Thelma Mae Woodruff, 96, of Freeport, Texas went home to meet her maker on September 3, 2011. She was born March 2, 1915 in Providence City, Texas to Scott and Ethel Gifford. Thelma graduated from Freeport High School and was a lifetime area resident. Thelma was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, S. A. Woodruff, Jr., her son Billy Woodruff and a grandson James S. Woodruff and a great grandson Jeremy Woodruff.

She is survived by 5 children: Robert Allen Woodruff and wife Genevieve of Freeport,

Dorothy Thurston and husband George of Austin,

Linda Doolan and husband Melvin of Friendswood,

Julia Rasmussen and husband Douglas of Brazoria,

Brenda Woodruff of Clute,

1 daughter- in -law Sammye Woodruff of Idaho,

14 grandchildren,

33 great grandchildren, and

21 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 am Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel, Interment will be at the Restwood Cemetery.

Pall bearers will be Robert A. Woodruff, Jr.,

James R. Woodruff,

Ian Woodruff,

Marc Murrell,

Justin Woodruff, and

Stephen Lau.
