Clell LeRoy Sechrest

Clell L. Sechrest, 85, of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011 in Angleton. He was born Feb. 5, 1926 in Salem, Illinois to Harry and Minerva Sechrest. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War, the U. S. Army, and the U.S. Army Reserve. Clell was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, American Legion Post #241, Lake Jackson Masonic Lodge # 1317, a volunteer at the Brazosport Food Pantry, a member of the Brazosport Art League, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lake Jackson. Clell worked for Dow Chemical Company for 29 ½ years.

He is survived by his wife Mary Helen of Angleton,

1 son Harry Sechrest and wife Betty of Ogden, Iowa,

1 step-son: David Bates of Austin, Texas

4 grandchildren: Danny Sechrest, Ben Sechrest, Robyn Steight and husband Shane, Aimee Meyers,

son-in-law: Barry Roebuck of Calgary Canada,

1 brother: Jerry A Sechrest and wife Mattie of Angleton,

2 sisters Erma Frala of Columbia, Missouri,

Donna Sandy of Raytown, Missouri,

and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clell was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Kathleen, daughter, Elaine Roebuck, granddaughter, Carla Roebuck, and 2 brothers, Burrell and William Sechrest.

The family will receive friends 6 pm until 8 pm Tuesday at Lakewood. Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Geller officiating. There will be a reception at the church following the funeral services.

The family wishes to thank A-MED Hospice, the staff at Country Village Care , Brenda Maust and volunteers at the Gathering Place, John Jasso and members of the American Legion for their loving care of Clell.

The family requests donations to Brazosport Cares Food Pantry in memory of Clell.
