Margaret Louise Whitehead
9/16/1925 - 1/25/2012
Margaret Louise Whitehead went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Her smile and her kindness will be missed by many. For the last one and half years she resided at Creekside Village rest home. Thanks to the nurses, aides, and staff for all of your love and kindness to her. She was born in New Castle, Texas on September 16, 1925, and was 86 at the time of her homecoming. She was part of a kind and loving family that taught Christian morals and principles. She had these principles and morals all the way to the end. Don't know of anyone she didn't like. The McKibben family were some of the first pioneering families that came and started up Lake Jackson. Although Louise did not come until after she graduated from high school, which was just about a year. She was one of the charter members; along with her family, of First Baptist Church in Lake Jackson. Louise taught in the public school system for 29 to 30 years. She taught in first grade and also second grade, in Elizabeth Ney. Her first years to teach were the 1946-1947 school year.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 64 years, Red Whitehead; her dad and mom, O.H. and Carrie McKibben; three sisters, Evelyn Duhon, Jackie Travis and Peggy Swift; one brother, Warren McKibben; daughter-in-law, Donna Whitehead.
She is survived by one brother, Gene McKibben, two sons and daughters-in-law, Neil and Joyce Whitehead, Bobby and Rene Whitehead; five grandchildren, Tommy Whitehead, Missy Vicknair, Sandy and Robert Osborne and Chris McDowell; four great-grandchildren, Robert Smith, Connor Whitehead, Danielle Whitehead and Ahz Vicknair; two great-great- grandchildren, Kayla Smith and Dane Smith.
