Louise Rosenkranz

Louise Elizabeth "Romie" Rogers Rosenkranz passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Regent Care Center in League City, TX.
Born on May 29, 1926, in Muldrow, OK, to parents James Madison Rogers and Nettie Stela Rogers, Louise married Joe Henry Rosenkranz on July 3, 1948. Their marriage lasted 53 years, until Joe's death on December 13, 2001. Louise and Joe made their home in Angleton, Texas, for many years, where she briefly worked in the DOW cafeteria before leaving employment to be a full-time wife and homemaker. Following Joe's retirement from DOW, they moved to Cedar Creek, TX, followed by Muldrow, OK; Tyler, TX; and Smithville, TX, before returning home to Angleton in 2000. Louise was a proud supporter of the VFW and a former member of Grace Lutheran Church, St. Mark Lutheran Church, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was an avid fan of football and baseball and loved watching sports on TV.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joe; sisters, Ruby Grace Holder and husband Balpha, and Alta Rogers; brothers, James Rogers, Jesse W. Rogers and wife Helen; brother-in-law Hodge Rhodes; and sister-in-law Martha Rogers; mother- and father-in-law, Theresa and Rudolph Rosenkranz; in-laws, Sonny Rosenkranz and wife Robbie, Milada McLure and husband J.T., Bill Rosenkranz, Annie Orlando Harrington and first husband Tony Orlando, and James Mahaffey, as well as nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her brothers, George Rogers and Ted Rogers; sister, Artie Rhodes; in-laws, Jimmie Rosenkranz and wife Grace, Faye Rosenkranz, Bill Harrington, Bessie Mahaffey, and Douglas Rosenkranz and wife Gloria; daughter, Faye Delano; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family would like to thank the staff at AMED Hospice and Regent Care Center for all their care in Louise's final weeks.
Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Lakewood Funeral Home, and funeral services are 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012, at Lakewood Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven M. Larsen presiding.
A reception will follow at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 501 Willow Drive, Lake Jackson, TX.
