Joseph Charles Lusco

Services for Joseph Charles Lusco will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 7, 2012, at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Father Leo Wleczylk officiating. Visitation at 9 a.m. till service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Boynton Cemetery, Long Brand, Friday at 1 p.m.

Joseph Charles Lusco, 78, was born in Jeanenette, LA. on September 2, 1933, to Carmella Natoli Lusco and Charles Pascal Lusco.


The family moved to Texas when he was 8 1⁄2 years old. He graduated in 1952 from Brazosport High School, and was active in 4-H.


He had a reserve champion calf and other animals. Joseph enjoyed playing sports in school. He also attended St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church.


He was an alter boy and served the 1st Mass at the new church. Joseph attended A&M, Lamar, and McNeese Colleges. He taught elementary school in Vidor for several years; attended Trinity University in San Antonio and earned a Master of Science degree.


He was employed at Hotel Deiu Hospital in El Paso. Joseph moved to Beaumont and established "The Charles Lusco & Co. Insurance Agency"; enjoyed interacting with his clients; and never met a stranger.


He was active in community organizations; and raised greyhounds as a hobby. He also enjoyed going to the track and watching the dogs run.


He was preceded in death by father, Charles Pascal Lusco; mother, Carmella Natoli Lusco; and wife, Nan Lusco.


Survivors include his sister, Rita Anderson and husband, Marvin; niece, Cheryl Anderson and husband, Robert Anouilh, of Houston; Darrin Anderson, wife, Barbie and Isabella Whitt, of Lake Jackson; as well as other relatives, Lorna, Doyle, Cade, Cadelyn, Bennett and Sonia Little, Laura, Robert and Will Black, Milton and Ann Melo, Joyce, John, Terry Worley and Family; and many other cousins.


Pallbearers will be Darrin Anderson, Robert Anouilh, Robert Black, Carey Malek, Troy Ward and Geory Hail.


In lieu of flowers please send donation to St. Mary's Star of the Sea, SPCA, or charity of your choice.
