Janie Damian Lara

Janie Damian Lara, 82, of Freeport passed away Friday, November 9, 2012. She was born May 12, 1930 to Ernesto and Sylviana Damian in Angleton, Texas. She was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church. Janie worked in many of the area hospitals for over thirty years and also was a care giver to her friends and family.

Janie was preceded in death by her husband Richard Lara, brother, Leon Damian, and sister, Ana Martinez.

She is survived by 3 children: Richard Lara of Freeport, Antonio Lara of Freeport,
Rosy Lara Ramos of Freeport,
4 grandchildren: Robbie Lara, Tamara Ramos, Antonio Ray Lara and Ricky Ramos,Jr.,
6 great grandchildren: Jon Anthony Lara, Cristian Lara, Joshua Stephens, Jacob Stephens, Devin Longbotham, and Leigha Longbotham.

Janie also loved and respected Ricky Ramos and Donna Lara.


The family will receive friends 5pm until 8pm Monday at Lakewood Chapel.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel.

Interment will follow at Angleton Cemetery.
