Charlene Hall, 78, of Lake Jackson, TX, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012. She was born on December 7, 1933 in Marceline, MO to Elmo and Geneva Lake. She grew up in Mexico, MO where she graduated from Mexico High School in 1951.
On March 9, 1952 she married the love of her life, Kenneth Hall. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she won a Woman of the Year Award.
In 1968, she received the award Outstanding Young Woman of America for her work in organizing a kindergarten program for the youth in Mexico, MO. Later that year, she relocated to Lake Jackson, TX with her husband and children.
Mrs. Hall spent 30 years working as a staff accountant at Harriet Herns, C.P.A., until she retired in 2001. She was a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church where she participated in organizations such as Daughters of the King, Newcomers and Christian Formation as well as many other areas.
After retirement, she and her husband loved to travel and made several trips to Europe.
Charlene touched the lives of many with her compassion and kind heart. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and cherished grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Geneva Minks; and granddaughter, Stacey hall.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Hall; son, Dale Hall and wife, Sylvia, of Amarillo, TX; daughters, Tracy Littleton and husband, Mike, of Lake Jackson, TX and Sandy Williams and husband, Steve, of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren, Andy Littleton and wife, Jennifer, Allen Littleton, Aimee Martin and husband, Jeff, Stephanie and Austin WIlliams; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Charlene will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Jackson.
A private family services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Lake Jackson.
The family will be forever grateful to Karen Ashcraft and the staff at Revered Texan for the care and kindness shown over the last two years. Especially Rebecca Ducharme, Stormy Smith and Amy Johnson.
And also to the staff of Hospice Care Team whose compassion and support in the last days will always hold a valuable place in the family's heart.
