Juanita Isabel Carroll
4/19/1934 - 3/9/2013

Juanita Isabel Carroll, daughter of William O. and Mary E. Davis, was born April 19th, 1934 in Needville, Texas. She was a woman of many talents and used them to serve God, her family and the community her entire life. Leading a life of servitude and sacrifice, she was always making sure others were looked after and cared for. As both a Sunday school teacher and a Royal Ranger leader, she taught and nurtured many, many children over the years. As a ministry to the elderly, she played piano and sang gospel songs in nursing homes for much of her life. She truly had the heart of a mother and after a lifetime of ministry to the young and to the old, her own body began to grow weary but her spirit did not. She will be remembered for her service, her love for children, and yes, her collection of chickens, but most certainly she will be remembered for her strong and independent spirit and desire to serve. She recently, in a tired and weary voice, said "One plants, another waters…" in reference to the scripture. Who among us has the dedication and selflessness to serve and to give as she did? Juanita Isabel Carroll was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Stephen Carroll, parents William and Mary Davis, siblings Bob, Chester, and Jack Davis and Elsie Murphy, and children Donna Lynn Whitehead and Stephen Ray Carroll. She is survived by her sister Joyce Stancliff, children Joy Jenkins, Kevin and Janet Carroll, Randy and Beverly Carroll and Tim and Stacy Carroll, Grandchildren, Tommy Whitehead, Missy Vicknair, David Carroll, Cameron Carroll, Stephanie Quinn, Shane Carroll, Jesse Carroll, Michelle Carroll, Kristy O'Brien, Jake Carroll, Amber Carroll, Justin Carroll, Sean Carroll and Devin Carroll, 17 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Wanda Schaefer and Linda Pyka for their dedicated and loving care.

The viewing will be on Friday 3/15 from 7-9 pm at Lakewood Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday 3/16 at 2:00 pm.
