Kathleen Shields, 85, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013. She was born March 11, 1928 in Poynor, Texas to Jessie James Thrasher and Nancy Allie Fisher Thrasher.

Kathleen was employed by Missouri Pacific Railroad for twelve years in Palestine, Texas. She moved to Lake Jackson in 1957 and was later employed by Dow Chemical until her retirement in 1983. Kathleen was a member of the Good Sams Organization, the Needle Crafters, and Friendship Club. She was a faithful mall walker before joining the Brazosport Cardiac Rehab program. She enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball, gardening, card games with friends, and loved to travel. Kathleen was a member of the Old Angleton Road Church of Christ and a volunteer at Brazosport Regional Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and her husband of 48 years, Johnnie Shields.

She is survived by her only son, J.D. Shields of Angleton.

Kathleen leaves behind many friends and a special friend Darlene Redden of Ingram, Texas.
