Carl H. Kesler

Carl H Kesler, 87, formerly of Lake Jackson, Tx passed away on December 9, 2013. He was born in Chillicothe, Mo to Theodore and Laura Kesler on November 10, 1926. He married Rose Mary Lee on March 20, 1946 while he was in the US Navy. He attended Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo and received a BS degree in Chemistry. Their first son, Gary was born there. They then moved to Arlington, Virginia when he was recalled into the Navy, where his second son David was born . In 1953 then they moved to Sunflower, Kansas where he worked for Hercules Powder. They moved to Lake Jackson in 1956 where he became a chemist with The Dow Chemical Company. He spent his career as a Production Superintendent and Technology Center Manager in Chlorinated Solvents. Part of his career involved a foreign assignment in Terneuzen, The Netherlands starting a Perchlorethylene Plant. Carl retired from Dow Chemical in 1987. He enjoyed bowling with the Rowdies, fishing with family and friends, hunting, golf, traveling, family gatherings, and a good joke. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lake Jackson. Carl was an Eagle Scout and a committed leader for Explorer Post 325 and Boy Scout Troup 352. He enjoyed dancing with the Lake Jackson Promenaders Square Dance Club and he was a member of The Riverside County Club Retirees. Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and father- in- Law. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Rose Mary Kesler, his parents, and one brother Oren Kesler, and 2 sisters Ada Van Horn, and Lola Diegleman. He is survived by 2 sons Gary Kesler and wife Linda of Midland Mi David Kesler and wife Linda of Doss ,Tx 4 Grandchilden Scott Kesler and wife Ria Ryan Kesler and wife Melissa Curtis Kesler and wife Gretchen Kent Kesler and wife Michelle 5 Great Grandchildren Mason Kesler Noah Kesler Mallory Kesler Hadley Kesler Kate Kesler Brother Ralph and wife Elberta Kesler of Redlands, California The Family held a private service on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
