James "Jim" Edward Milligan

James Edward (Jim) Milligan, 86, of Lake Jackson passed away Friday, December 13, 2013. The family will receive friends 11:30 am until service time at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Gambino officiating.
He was born on April 11, 1927 in Buda, Texas to Oscar Cress Milligan and Belva Ann Pooley Milligan. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He was and operator and a lab technician for Dow Chemical Company. Jim retired from Dow after 37 years of service. Jim was a member of Chapelwood Methodist Church. He was a member of the Onion Creek Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite. He belonged to the Ben Hur Shrine in Austin, Texas.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Milligan of Lake Jackson, 2 daughters, Marilynn Bowles and husband Jimmie of Lake Jackson, Margaret Dingee and husband David of Lake Jackson,6 grandchildren: Kevin Beam, Aimee Davis and husband Duane, Justin Bowles and wife Ginny, Cody Dingee and wife Monica, Wes Dingee and wife Jessica, Kyle Dingee and wife Bri,8 great grandchildren: Tanner Davis, Fischer Dingee, Carli Davis, Reese Dingee, Cole Davis, Emma Bowles, Ada Ann Dingee, Reef Dingee, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Jim's passions in life was his family. He loved watching his grandsons play baseball and adored his granddaughter. He also loved restoring cars.
