Betty Martha Kubala

Betty M. Kubala, 94, of Clute passed away peacefully with her family by her side Tuesday, March 25, 2014. She was born July 31, 1919 in Corn Hill, Texas. She moved to the Brazosport area with her husband Julius in 1947. Betty was a member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church and a member of the KJZT for over 75 years.

She enjoyed Czech music, dancing , and watching the Astros, gardening and baking delicious kolaches. Betty adored her three cats, Misty, Skipper, and Smoke and her Sunday domino partners: Opal Weaver and Helen Helms.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Julius and one son Ray Kubala.

Betty is survived by 3 children: Edward Kubala of Clute,

Alice Podraza of Clute,

James Kubala and wife Lena of Angleton,

2 grandchildren: Lauren Kubala and Tyler Kubala,

1 sister, Martha Tschoerner of Austin, several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends 6pm to 8pm Friday at Lakewood Chapel with a 6:30 pm Rosary. Funeral services will be Noon, Saturday, March 29, 2014 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church with Father Jim Lynes officiating. Interment will follow at Restwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Jeromes Catholic Church Building Fund; 201 N Lazy Lane; Clute, Texas 77531.
